Vietjet Launches Vietjet Qazaqstan Airline

Vietjet and Qazaq Air have officially announced a strategic partnership to launch a new airline, Vietjet Qazaqstan, during the Kazakhstan – Vietnam Business Forum. The prestigious event was held in the presence of Vietnam’s General Secretary Tô Lâm, as part of his official state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the forum, the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam presented an outbound investment certificate to Aviation Holdings, a subsidiary of Vietjet, authorizing its acquisition of a strategic stake in Qazaq Air. This move marks a key milestone in Vietjet’s international expansion strategy and reinforces the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan in aviation, economics, and culture. It also signals the beginning of a new chapter for the aviation industry in Central Asia.

Under the agreement, the two airlines will jointly develop and operate Vietjet Qazaqstan, which will evolve from the current Qazaq Air.

Vietjet Qazaqstan is envisioned as a new-generation low-cost carrier that will serve as a strategic aviation bridge between Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and major global air hubs. The airline aims to meet the growing travel demand of the Kazakhstani population, thereby promoting tourism, trade, and logistics across Asia, while contributing to local socio-economic development by creating thousands of high-quality jobs.

During the same event, Vietjet Qazaqstan and Boeing signed a framework agreement for comprehensive technical support for the airline’s Boeing 737 fleet. Boeing will provide services including software systems, spare parts, pilot and engineer training, as well as aircraft maintenance and upgrades to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Vietjet Qazaqstan plans to operate a fleet of at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft, with an ambitious expansion of both domestic and international routes. The airline will adopt a modern operational model, digitalized management, and advanced personnel training systems, supported by Vietjet’s technical expertise and operational capabilities.

With its experience in modern aviation operations, cutting-edge technologies, and a robust global partnership network, Vietjet’s investment in Kazakhstan reflects its pioneering role among Vietnamese corporations in promoting multilateral cooperation, technology transfer, human resource development, infrastructure modernization, and enhancing the competitiveness of the regional aviation sector. This collaborative model not only yields economic benefits but also serves national interests, strengthens regional connectivity, and contributes to shared prosperity.

Previously, Thai Vietjet emerged as one of the leading low-cost carriers in Thailand, thanks to its efficient and effective operations.

With a strong commitment to national development and social responsibility, Vietjet has become widely recognized as Vietnam’s national airline in spirit. Every new milestone and market expansion undertaken by Vietjet is driven by the mission to enhance connectivity, support socio-economic growth, and deliver long-term sustainable value to the people, the country, and the region.

This vision has shaped Vietjet into a pioneering airline—one that represents a dynamic, globally integrated, and responsible Vietnam on the international stage.
