Starting 20 March 2026, Indonesia AirAsia will inaugurate a new direct flight service linking Denpasar (Bali), Indonesia with Da Nang, Vietnam. This route will operate four times weekly using Airbus A320 aircraft, offering significant new connectivity between two of Southeast Asia’s most sought-after leisure destinations.
Under the scheduled timetable:
- From Bali to Da Nang: Departing at approximately 14:15, arriving at 17:55 (local time).
- From Da Nang to Bali: Departing at approximately 18:25, arriving at 23:55 (local time).
Flights are expected to operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, providing more flexible and convenient travel options for tourists, holiday-makers, and business travellers between Central Vietnam and Bali.
This new route reinforces the strategic expansion of AirAsia’s network across Southeast Asia. As AirAsia’s seventh international destination served directly from Bali, the Da Nang link strengthens regional tourism connectivity. It allows travellers to combine coastal escapes, cultural experiences, and multi-destination itineraries across Indonesia and Vietnam with ease.
Why This Matters for Da Nang
Da Nang has seen rapid growth in international arrivals, with Vietnam welcoming over 19 million inbound visitors in the first eleven months of 2025, representing more than a 20% increase year-on-year. The Southeast Asian market, including Indonesia, has been a notable contributor to this tourism rebound.
For Bali, one of the region’s most iconic holiday destinations, the Da Nang route expands its international reach and offers travellers a seamless way to experience both tropical paradises in a single trip — from the beaches and cultural heartlands of Bali to the stunning coastline, vibrant food scene, and cultural attractions of Da Nang.
A Broader AirAsia Ecosystem in Da Nang
The introduction of the Bali–Da Nang service complements a broader AirAsia footprint connecting Da Nang to markets across Southeast Asia. In 2026, the airline group’s presence in Vietnam includes:
- AirAsia Malaysia flight services to Da Nang from Kuala Lumpur, reflecting ongoing growth and competition among low-cost carriers.
- AirAsia Philippines launching direct routes to Da Nang and Hanoi from Manila with competitive promotional pricing, signalling increased regional demand and budget-friendly access to Vietnam.
Collectively, these developments are enhancing Da Nang’s connectivity to major tourism markets in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and beyond — a major draw for travellers seeking cultural richness and leisure escapes in 2026 and beyond.
