Vietnam Airlines resumes Da Nang – Osaka route from July 2025

Vietnam Airlines has announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Da Nang and Osaka, operating four flights per week to meet the growing travel demand between Vietnam and Japan.

According to the national flag carrier, the route will be reinstated from July 3, with a frequency of four flights per week, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening air connectivity between the two nations.

To mark the occasion, Vietnam Airlines is offering a special promotion for passengers traveling between Da Nang and Osaka. Tickets purchased before March 31 for departures between July 3 and October 31 (excluding peak periods) will be available at a promotional round-trip fare starting from VND 9,299,000, inclusive of taxes and fees.

Vietnam Airlines first launched its route to Japan in 1994, starting with flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Osaka. Over the years, the airline has expanded its Vietnam–Japan network to 10 routes, with an average of 122 flights per week connecting Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City with major Japanese cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.

To enhance passenger experience, Vietnam Airlines deploys modern wide-body aircraft, including the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350, on its Vietnam–Japan routes.

Over the past three decades, the airline has operated more than 100,000 flights between the two countries, transporting nearly 16 million passengers. The Northeast Asian market, particularly Japan, remains one of the most significant international markets for Vietnam Airlines, recording an average annual growth rate of 20%.

During the 30th-anniversary celebration of the Vietnam–Japan air route on December 6, 2024, in the presence of National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn, Vietnam Airlines CEO Lê Hồng Hà reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to increasing flight frequencies, exploring new routes, and enhancing service quality to better serve passengers traveling between the two countries.

In addition to resuming the Da Nang–Osaka route, Vietnam Airlines is considering increasing the frequency of flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Fukuoka while deploying wide-body aircraft on the Hanoi–Nagoya route.

Beyond scheduled flights, the airline is also exploring opportunities to expand its charter flight services between Vietnam and Japan. At the anniversary event, Vietnam Airlines signed cooperation agreements with Hokkaido, Aichi, and Nagoya provinces to further strengthen air transport ties.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyễn Xuân Sang emphasized that as Vietnam–Japan relations continue to deepen, aviation plays a crucial role in facilitating trade, tourism, and business exchanges. He urged Vietnam Airlines to expand its flight network, upgrade its fleet, and increase flight frequencies to meet the growing demand from both countries’ citizens and enterprises.
