On July 31, during the Vietnam-India Business Forum in New Delhi, Vietjet marked a significant milestone by welcoming its 200 millionth passenger and unveiling a new flight route between Ahmedabad and Da Nang.

The event saw Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, accompanied by a high-level delegation and representatives from the business communities of both nations, extending their congratulations to Vietjet. This celebration coincided with the Prime Minister’s state visit to India.

The 200 millionth passenger, Mr. Sandeep Mehta, an esteemed Indian entrepreneur, was honored with a year of complimentary international flights from Vietjet.

In conjunction with this milestone, Vietjet announced the launch of a new route connecting Ahmedabad – India to Da Nang – Vietnam’s most livable city. This route is scheduled to commence operations in October 2024.

Vietjet continues to expand its offerings, providing numerous travel options for residents and tourists from both countries. The airline now offers direct flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major Indian cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Tiruchirappalli, as well as renowned destinations like Bodh Gaya and Varanasi.

Currently, Vietjet operates the highest number of direct flights between Vietnam and India, with 56 flights per week across seven routes. To date, nearly 1.3 million passengers have traveled between the two countries via Vietjet.

Since December 2019, Vietjet has been a pioneer in establishing direct flights between New Delhi and the Vietnamese cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The airline has since expanded its network, enhancing connectivity not only between Vietnam and India but also linking India with Asia, Australia, and beyond. This expansion plays a crucial role in bolstering economic, investment, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
