Da Nang Launches Direct Flights to Manila and Bali from March 20

From March 20, two international air routes will officially connect Da Nang directly with Manila and Bali, marking a significant milestone in the city’s aviation and tourism development strategy. This expansion is expected to strengthen regional connectivity and enhance opportunities to attract more visitors from Southeast Asia to Vietnam’s leading coastal destination.

The launch of the Da Nang–Bali route and the increased flight frequency on the Da Nang–Manila route are widely regarded as positive signals for the local tourism sector in 2026. These new services not only diversify Da Nang’s international air network but also reaffirm the city’s position as a dynamic gateway in Central Vietnam.

AirAsia Philippines Boosts Manila–Da Nang Frequency

The Manila–Da Nang route is operated by AirAsia Philippines with a frequency of four flights per week. The airline deploys Airbus A320 aircraft, each accommodating approximately 180 to 186 passengers per flight.

Flights depart from Manila, the vibrant capital of the Philippines, at 13:50 (local time) and arrive in Da Nang at 15:20. On the return journey, flights leave Da Nang at 17:25 and land in Manila at 20:55. Services operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

This additional service provides passengers with more flexible flight schedules and competitive fare options, while significantly enhancing seat capacity between the two cities. Prior to AirAsia Philippines joining the route, the Manila–Da Nang service was already operated by Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines, with a combined frequency of 17 flights per week. With the introduction of AirAsia Philippines, the total frequency has now increased to 21 flights per week, further reinforcing connectivity between the Philippines and Central Vietnam.

First-Ever Direct Connection Between Bali and Da Nang

Simultaneously, the Bali–Da Nang route, operated by Indonesia AirAsia, will also commence operations from March 20, with four flights per week using Airbus A320 aircraft configured for 180 to 186 passengers.

This service represents the first-ever direct air link between Bali and Da Nang, opening a new travel corridor between two of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated beach destinations.

The Bali–Da Nang flight is scheduled to depart at 14:15 and arrive in Da Nang at 17:55. In the opposite direction, flights leave Da Nang at 18:25 and land in Bali at 23:55. Similar to the Manila route, flights operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Strengthening Da Nang’s Tourism Growth Strategy

The introduction of these two routes is expected to diversify Da Nang’s international visitor markets and reduce reliance on a limited number of traditional source markets. By expanding access to key Southeast Asian hubs, the city aims to stimulate sustainable tourism growth and reinforce its competitive position in the region.

As Da Nang continues to invest in aviation connectivity, hospitality infrastructure, and destination marketing, the new Manila and Bali routes stand as strategic milestones in the city’s long-term tourism development vision. With enhanced accessibility, travelers from the Philippines and Indonesia can now enjoy seamless journeys to explore Da Nang’s pristine beaches, vibrant culinary scene, and rich cultural heritage.

The expansion of these direct connections signals a promising outlook for Da Nang’s tourism industry in the years ahead, positioning the city as an increasingly accessible and attractive destination within Southeast Asia.
