Da Nang Sees Surge in South Korean Tourists

Da Nang has witnessed a significant increase in international tourism, with over 470,000 visitors arriving in July alone, pushing the total for the first seven months of the year to more than 2.5 million. South Korea stands out as the leading source of these international tourists.

During the first seven months of 2024, local accommodation facilities have served approximately 6.6 million guests, reflecting a notable 33% rise compared to the same period last year. Of these, around 2.5 million are international visitors, highlighting the growing appeal of Da Nang as a global travel destination.

With a target of 8.4 million visitors by the end of the year, Da Nang has already achieved 80% of this goal, surpassing its specific target of 2.5 million international guests.

Additionally, revenue from the accommodation and dining sectors has exceeded 15.7 trillion VND since the start of the year. The number of tourists participating in organized tours is estimated to be over 824,000, with a substantial 45% increase in international visitors.

Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, underscored the city’s commitment to establishing itself as a top destination for events and festivals in Asia. Da Nang is focusing on attracting high-end tourists through various initiatives, including wedding tourism and golf tournaments.

South Korea remains the largest international market for Da Nang. To further engage this key demographic, the city has launched the “Enjoy Da Nang Again” campaign. This initiative features a range of souvenirs and special offers for South Korean tourists returning for their second visit since 2020, aiming to provide them with enhanced and memorable travel experiences.
