Da Nang tourism has just officially welcomed the first international flight from Incheon, South Korea to the city after 2 years of restrictions due to the pandemic.
On the morning of the 29th of April, at the international arrival terminal, Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang Department of Tourism has just welcomed more than 220 tourists from Incheon, South Korea after 2 years of restrictions by the pandemic.
Beside many bunches of flowers for the first 20 passengers, each passenger has also received numerous souvenirs, sets of masks, and hand gel sanitizer gels for safe travel and enjoyment.
Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of Da Nang Tourism Department, said that South Korea had been the top market of Da Nang tourism for many years before the Covid-19. Therefore, the renewal of this market is the most interest of the city.
“Da Nang tourism industry today is honored to welcome back the flight from Incheon, South Korea. This is one of the results of the process of promoting and recovering tourism in general after the pandemic. We hope that we will welcome more international flights this coming summer, even to the end of 2022 and in future years.”, said Mr.Binh.
According to the leader of the Department of Tourism, it is expected that Da Nang will host a forum for the development of Asian routes in early June.
This is an opportunity for the city to connect with airlines, and arrange or potentially open flights to Da Nang. Furthermore, preparing the necessary conditions to open routes from the key markets and potential international markets to the city in 2022.
According to the Da Nang Center for Tourism Promotion, Vietjet Air plans to operate 6 flights per week between Da Nang and Incheon from the 28th of April.
Within the framework of the program welcoming back flights from South Korea, Da Nang and Quang Nam tourism will conduct a survey on tourist destinations of more than 15 prestigious Korean travel agencies. This is one of the activities to attract Korean tourists to Danang and the Central tourist market.
