Found this vegan restaurant while wandering around under the hot weather and looking for a quick stop.
First impression: green, green and green. Different types of plants everywhere, the restaurant is covered by the shadows of different trees, and even though it’s super hot out there, you still can feel the breeze when you get inside the restaurant. It’s really like an oasis inside the city center. The restaurant has a very Vietnamese style with tile roofs, brick walls, calligraphy paintings, terra-cotta decorations, etc. If you love Eastern culture, Vietnamese in particular, you will surely enjoy this place. I thought I would only have a coffee, but then I was attracted by the food at the nearby table. It smelled good!
It turned out this is a Vietnamese style vegan restaurant. Foods are all made from fresh vegetables. The staff told me MSG is not allowed to be used in the food here, and some seasonings are even handmade by the owner. I like the clay pot rice, eggplants mixed with chili peppers, and baby jackfruit steamed with coconut juice. Very Vietnamese.
The clay pot rice is served with mushrooms, vegetables, seaweeds, and peanuts. Mix everything together with some soy sauce then enjoy. The food looks good, smells good, and tastes good with a very unique sweetness. I tried examining which ingredient brings out the sweetness but have not succeeded yet.
And this is the eggplants mixed with chili peppers. I tried it once before at a friend’s house. He said this is a traditional food in Vietnamese families. It’s a nice surprise seeing this food again at a restaurant in Danang.
Drinks menu was the first thing I looked at since I originally just wanted to find a quick stop to escape the sunshine. Options are quite abundant with many fruit juices, making a great combination with the vegan food and the greeneries in the restaurant. I ordered a kombucha to help with the digestion though. It’s a little sour, tastes very good, especially after I’ve finished all of the food that I ordered.
It’s a wonderful coincidence that I discovered such a nice place that could satisfy all of my senses like that. If you are interested in Vietnamese vegan food or looking for a peaceful and chilling place for a meal, this is a must try location!
