Vietnam Airlines to Resume Buon Ma Thuot – Da Nang Flight Route

Vietnam Airlines has announced plans to resume the round-trip flight route between Buon Ma Thuot and Da Nang by the end of October 2024, following an extended suspension due to a shortage of aircraft caused by engine maintenance. This reinstatement is anticipated to invigorate tourism and boost trade connections between Buon Ma Thuot, renowned as the coffee capital, and the city of Da Nang.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tat Danh, Head of the Vietnam Airlines Branch in Buon Ma Thuot, the airline is currently finalizing all necessary procedures to reinstate the round-trip flights. The service is expected to operate thrice weekly, starting from October 29. This route had previously been halted due to aircraft unavailability stemming from engine maintenance requirements.

The return of this route is poised to create numerous opportunities for economic exchange and tourism development between the provinces of Dak Lak and Da Nang. Such air connectivity is particularly significant for Dak Lak province, which is endeavoring to establish itself as the economic and social center of the Central Highlands. Efficient transportation links, especially air travel, are critical and contribute substantially to the sustainable development goals of Dak Lak.

Furthermore, Dak Lak is increasingly being recognized as an attractive destination for tourists both domestically and internationally. Known as the “coffee capital” the province boasts a temperate climate and distinctive red basalt soil, alongside breathtaking natural scenery, including magnificent waterfalls, pristine forests, and serene large lakes.

In addition to its natural beauty, Dak Lak is home to a rich tapestry of cultural heritage, with distinctive folk traditions and customs preserved by its 49 ethnic communities. The province also houses ancient architectural relics that bear witness to its historical and revolutionary past, making it a compelling destination for visitors interested in culture and history.
