On March 1st, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien – Hue Province, held a meeting with the Vietnam Railways Corporation to discuss the deployment of the tourist train service from Hue to Da Nang. Various units and localities collaborated to finalize strategies, intending to commence the operation of the Hue-Da Nang tourist train on March 26th, featuring renovated passenger cars with enhanced services.
Mr. Hoang Hai Minh stressed the importance of creating a distinctive service for the Hue-Da Nang route, focusing on providing a unique travel experience with tourism services along the journey and between the two destinations, Hue and Da Nang. This initiative aims to contribute to the seamless transportation of residents between the two cities.
According to Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, the development of the Hue-Da Nang route should cater to passengers seeking experiential travel, ensuring quality tourism services along the route and at both destinations. This approach not only enhances the travel experience for families but also allows tourists to appreciate the scenic landscapes of mountains and coastlines.
The Vietnam Railways Corporation has deemed the service “highly suitable” for individuals and families seeking a unique travel experience. With both Hue and Da Nang stations centrally located, the service is expected to cater to the substantial demand for two-way travel from both domestic and international passengers.
In 2023, the Vietnam Railways Corporation invested in refurbishing interiors and acquiring new equipment to serve passengers at both Hue and Da Nang stations. The train interiors were upgraded with air conditioning systems, comfortable seating, and modern TV screens, replacing traditional aluminum frame notice boards. Waiting areas saw the introduction of new seats of varying materials, shapes, and sizes to optimize space. Passenger cars are now equipped with charging stations for mobile phones, complimentary drinking water, and automatic vending machines for refreshments.
The Vietnam Railways Corporation hopes for the support of Thua Thien – Hue Province and the city of Da Nang to facilitate the prompt implementation of the Hue-Da Nang tourist train service. This collaboration aims to provide a sophisticated and enjoyable travel experience for passengers while contributing to the overall development of tourism and transportation in the region.
