Korea Reallows Granting Short-term Visitor Visas to Vietnamese Tourists

In the process of reopening to international tourism, the Korean Ministry of Justice has made an official announcement on May 19 about reallowing granting visitor visas to international tourists, including Viet Nam.

According to the Korea Tourism Organization office in Viet Nam, from June 1 2022, granting short-term visa C-3 (the type of visa for people doing market research, consulting business venture, traveling, having medical treatment, visiting family members, meeting,…) is reallowed to international tourists, after has been halted since March 14 2020.

In the past, the visa C-3 was only granted for particular cases such as diplomacy, business, convention, residence, commerce,… In addition, multiple-entry visas granted before April 5 2020 and still valid are allowed to continue.

Alongside reallowing granting visitor visas to Vietnamese tourists, the Korea Tourism Organization office in Viet Nam also launches the “Travel to Korea begins again” campaign with diverse activities, as well as special support for travel agencies to promote the restoration of the Korean tourism market in Viet Nam.

Through the media, the novelty, the variety, and the practical assistance we provide to the travel agencies in Viet Nam, we hope that the tourism between Viet Nam and Korea will actively revive and thus strengthen the two countries’ partnership after 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations” – said Mr.Lee Jea Hoon, Heads of Korea Tourism Organization office in Viet Nam.
