Visa Exemption for 12 Countries entry Viet Nam from March 15

On March 7, 2025, the Government of Vietnam issued Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP, officially granting visa exemptions to citizens of 12 countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

Visa Exemption Details

Under this resolution, citizens from the following countries will be eligible for visa-free entry into Vietnam:

  1. Germany
  2. France
  3. Italy
  4. Spain
  5. United Kingdom and Northern Ireland
  6. Russia
  7. Japan
  8. South Korea
  9. Denmark
  10. Sweden
  11. Norway
  12. Finland

The visa exemption allows a 45-day stay upon arrival in Vietnam, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, provided all entry conditions stipulated by Vietnamese law are met.

Implementation Period

This visa exemption policy will take effect from March 15, 2025, and remain valid until March 14, 2028. The government will review and consider potential extensions in accordance with Vietnamese legal regulations.

Replacement of Previous Resolutions

With the implementation of this new policy, Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP (issued on March 15, 2022) and Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP (issued on August 14, 2023) will officially expire on March 15, 2025.

This initiative is expected to enhance tourism, business, and diplomatic exchanges between Vietnam and these 12 nations, reinforcing Vietnam’s commitment to international integration and economic growth.
