Da Nang Piloting Public Bicycle Rental Service

Da Nang city has launched a pilot program to provide public bicycles for rent. The program aims to encourage the use of bicycles as a means of transportation and promote a healthier lifestyle.

The rental service is available at several locations around the city, with rental fees starting at 5,000 VND per hour. Users can rent bicycles through a mobile app or at rental stations.

To ensure the safety of users, the bicycles are equipped with GPS tracking devices and are regularly maintained by the rental company.

The pilot program will run for six months, after which the city will evaluate its effectiveness and decide whether to expand the service.

This initiative is part of Da Nang’s efforts to promote sustainable transportation and reduce air pollution in the city.

Eco-friendly means of transportation serving urban tourism and daily life.

The Public Bicycle Service Model project, implemented by the Department of Transportation of Da Nang City, is being piloted at 61 public bicycle stations with approximately 600 bicycles. Specifically, there are 32 stations in Hai Chau District, 5 stations in Thanh Khe District, 16 stations in Son Tra District, 5 stations in Ngu Hanh Son District, and 3 stations in Cam Le District.

The location of the stations is prioritized near bus stations to connect with the public transportation system, ensuring traffic safety and urban landscape, and increasing convenience for residents and tourists.

To rent a bicycle and unlock the system, users need to install the TNGo application on their mobile phone, register and log in with their personal phone number. The rental fee is paid through electronic wallet applications on smartphones such as Momo, Zalo Pay, Viettel Pay, and VTC Pay. Through the TNGo software application downloaded from the app store on the phone, users can find bicycles on the digital map and scan the QR Code to unlock them.

It is noteworthy that users can rent and return bicycles at any station after use. Specific and intuitive usage instructions are also provided at each station for residents and tourists to use.
